Alden Ehrenreich Closes in on the Lead Role in the Han Solo Film

Deadline is reporting that the “front runner” for the upcoming Han Solo film is actor Alden Ehrenreich.

Ehrenreich has starred in such films as Blue Jasmine with Cate Blanchett , Hail, Caesar with George Clooney and is in the new Warren Beatty Project. With an impressive and growing list of elite Hollywood films under his belt, the role of the Star Wars universe’s greatest “scoundrel”, the possible decision to go with Ehrenreich may be the best choice.

Other actors named in the running are Jack Reynor from Transformers: Age of Extinction and Taron Egerton from The Kingsman. Anthony Ingruber emerged as a fan favorite to play the role of young Han Solo when his mock audition surfaced after the announcement of the film. Even with his impressive impersonation of Ford, it doesn’t look like he was much on the radar of executives.

Disney has scheduled the release for the Han Solo film for May of 2018.

What do you think of the possible choosing of Ehrenreich for the role of Han Solo? Has anyone been missed in the list of considered actors that you feel should have been included? Let us know in the comments.
