BBC News is reporting that Prince William and Prince Harry will visit Pinewood Studios and the set of Star Wars: Episode VIII.
The visit was first announced on the official Kensington Palace Twitter.
Daisy Ridley, (Rey), will be the guide for the tour which will include a meeting with Mark Hamill and Director Rian Johnson. The visit is to recognize the British talent involved in the filming and creation of the Star Wars films. British studios have been instrumental in all Star Wars films in both filming shoots and production.
Officially just a tour but, could there be any plans for a cameo appearance in the next film? One has to also wonder…what does a Jedi Master ask a Royal Prince during a visit? I can’t wait to see the Twitter posts that surface from this!
“British talent featured both in front of and behind the cameras in 2015’s Star Wars: Episode VII: The Force Awakens, which saw Ridley and John Boyega play the central characters Rey and Finn. British locations also featured in the film, with director JJ Abrams shooting exterior scenes on Greenham Common, in the Lake District and Scotland.”- BBC News
Of course, Mark Hamill is no stranger to royalty having been awarded a medal for his part in the destruction of the Death Star by Princes Leia herself! Perhaps the Royal Princes will arrive with a medal for Chewie this time? *Bad Joke GROANS heard around the internet!*
Rogue One: A Star Wars Story is the next film to release from the franchise in December 2016, followed by Star Wars: Episode VIII in 2017.
