Pacific Rim is about the war between the people of Earth and a force of gigantic monsters called Kaiju from another world. Human kind builds huge robots to fight and destroy these monsters that threaten the population. These robots are called Jaegers and can only be controlled by linking the minds of two pilots. The film was a blockbuster hit that took audiences by surprise! The film took in over $400 million worldwide and was MY favorite film of that summer!
“I am very proud and happy to welcome John into a fantastic sandbox. The ‘Pacific Rim’ universe will be reinforced with him as a leading man as it continues to be a multicultural, multi-layered world,” del Toro said of Boyega. “‘The World saving the world’ was our goal and I couldn’t think of a better man for the job.”
Pacific Rim 2 is scheduled to release in April 2017.
