Forces of Destiny REVIEW: Two Star Wars Heroines are in a “Bounty of Trouble”

Disney’s Forces of Destiny utilizes a storytelling format featuring the heroines of the Star Wars universe to briefly demonstrate how choices like bravery, integrity or in the most recent episode, perseverance in the face of adversity, can shape an individual’s destiny.

“Bounty of Trouble” features not one, but two Star Wars heroines: Princess Leia and Sabine Wren team up for an information exchange under the guise of a rebel kidnapping attempt. Sabine uses a paint bomb to distract and confuse the storm troopers while Leia retrieves a hidden data tape. Before Sabine can escape, the pair runs into legendary bounty hunter IG-88. With some quick thinking from Princess Leia, Iggy ends up being the perfect distraction to the unsuspecting storm troopers and Sabine makes her getaway. Since the “Forces if Destiny” episodes are considered canon, we have another example of just how much Leia was able to accomplish for the rebellion before her capture during A New Hope.

In the last few moments of this episode, Sabine says to Leia “You keep fighting on the inside; I’ll keep fighting on the outside.” Leia optimistically replies, “I hope one day we can fight together,” a bit of foreshadowing of the adventures to come for Princess Leia and the Rebellion.

Female Star Wars fans are sure to feel a kinship with these heroines and it is my hope that the heroines of “Forces of Destiny” inspire young girls and boys alike to make the choice to be brave, kind, and persevere.
