Mark Hamill Day

As if becoming a Disney Legend wasn’t an exalted enough honor for our favorite Jedi, Mark Hamill has had a street named after him in Clairemont, California, which is a suburb of San Diego. Well, okay, his name is ‘honorary’ (the official street name, Castleton Drive, remains) and, as he put it, he’s [Hamill] “kinda’ on probation”. Let’s *ahem* hope his actions in The Last Jedi don’t warrant the dissolution of Mark Hamill Drive.

“I don’t really have a home town, but if I could pick a home town it would certainly be San Diego,” Hamill said, “To say that I’m grateful and honored would be an understatement.”

The turnout was not surprisingly, impressive! Anywhere Hamill appears these days becomes an event. He’s something of a rock star, and the costumed and cheering crowd underlined the affect he has on his fans. So, rock on down to Mark Hamill Drive, and may the force be with you.
