Mark Hamill has finally received his STAR on the Hollywood Walk of Fame!
For those of you that couldn’t be at the actual ceremony today, like us, were treated to the live broadcast of the even in Hollywood, which according to the Walk of Fame President, has attracted the biggest crowd they have ever had! This was refuted by Harrison Ford when he took the stage to address his friend’s honor, “There was alot more people that showed up for my Star”, joked Ford.
Along with the media and fans, the ceremony was attended by some familiar Star Wars alum including, Rian Johnson, Kelly Marie Tran, Billie Lourd, Kathleen Kennedy, Michelle Rejwan, Harrison Ford, and Star Wars creator George Lucas! It was also a family affair as Hamill was joined by both his wife and children but his brothers and sisters as well!
It was Harrison Ford’s speech to his friend and the hug afterwards was the moment that hit my heart. I wasn’t crying! There was dust in the air!
When it was finally time for Mark to speak to the fans, you could see how happy and overwhelmed from the support and love he was receiving from the fans, “I haven’t been this speechless since The Force Awakens”
To me, this was not only a victory for Mark Hamill and all his talent, hard work and dedication to his art but also a victory for the fans that know and love his work and the person that he is.
