Anthony Daniels at Pinewood Studios Reflects Outside the Carrie Fisher Building, “It felt right to be there.”

As the filming for Star Wars: Episode IX has started filming, we can expect to see more Tweets (for those cast members brave enough) like this from Anthony Daniels.

Daniels, who plays C3P0 in the Star Wars movies, reflects as he starts his day on the Pinewood Studios grounds and reflects on his old friend.

“YESTERDAY II – Studying a certain film script at Pinewood Studios, under the sun-dappled awning on the terrace of the new admin block – THE CARRIE FISHER BUILDING – seemed touchingly appropriate. It felt right to be there.”

Since the passing of Carrie Fisher, Hollywood and fans have honored her work with awards and other recognitions including Pinewood Studios naming a building for the Princess Leia actress on their historic site. This makes me feel good, knowing that Carrie will always be there on the studio for all the future Star Wars films. Like Mark Hamill has Tweeted, #CarrieOnForever

In July, Co-star Mark Hamill, also reflected on Twitter of what it is like to be filming without his long time friend. The cast has proven strong supporters to one another and John Boyega who plays Finn in the series, was there to comfort his Jedi co-star.

Finn to the rescue!

I have faith that J.J. Abrams and Lucasfilm will give Carrie Fisher’s Princess Leia a memorable and respectful ending in the trilogy and believe that she is looking down on everyone right now.

Star Wars: Episode IX is scheduled to release December 2019.
