Jon Favreau Reveals More Images on Instagram for The Mandalorian Series

Over the last hour, and without any explanations, Jon Favreau has released photos that we assume are from the set of the upcoming live action Star Wars series, The Mandalorian.

The first released was an image of an unusual container that resembled the same “ice cream maker” looking object carried by a residence of Bespin from The Empire Strikes Back. The person carrying the device was later identified as Willrow Hood. Willrow would find a fun fan following and a favorite for those “jokester” cosplayers. Will we see Willrow in the new series?

Is this device carried by Willrow Hood the device in the Instagram photo?

Favreau then shared the most exciting photo – a blaster rifle similar to that carried by Boba Fett in the animated portion of the Star Wars Holiday Special! Will our next picture be that Loch Ness beast looking creature that he rode? Fingers crossed!

A familiar weapon? Star Wars Holiday Special?

I am loving the creative direction The Mandalorian is seemingly taking. Dipping deep into the nostalgia files, even those in the dark days of the dreaded Holiday Special.

What do you think? Are you excited for the new series? Let us know in the comments!

The Mandalorian
“After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic”
