Preview for the Next Episode of Star Wars Resistance, Featuring New Character Voiced by Elijah Wood

Disney has released a clip for this week’s episode of Star Wars Resistance called, “Fuel for the Fire”.

“Kaz partakes in a friendly speeder bike race against a new acquaintance in this clip from “Fuel for the Fire.”

Elijah Wood, best known for his role of Frodo Baggins in the Lord of the Rings films, will join the cast in Sunday’s episode. Judging by the clip, it looks like he will be playing another “hot shot pilot” and rival to Kaz, voiced by Christopher Sean. In a Tweet, Sean showed his excitement about the episode.

I am really enjoying the racing competition theme of the series so far. Like I have mentioned before, it really reminds me of the old Star Wars D6 RPG by West End Games where I played when I was a kid of a “Brash Pilot” character. Our Game Master would give me the opportunity sometimes to use my piloting skills in races. One race involved “Swoop Bikes” which is a type of Speeder Bike that you see in this episode. Not only does the next episode bring back some “NERDY” nostalgia, but I look forward to Elijah Wood in the episode. I met Wood at NYC “The Hobbit” press junket I attended back in 2012. I was even able to ask him a question!

Wood is the third Lord of the Rings alum to show up in the Star Wars universe. Andy Serkis (Gollum/Snoke) and Dominic Monaghan (Merry/Ep.9 role) have or will play roles in the films. Now if we can find a way to lure Sir Ian McKellen to the Star Wars Saga, my Nerd fantasy will be complete!
