“I’ve come to the conclusion that mythology is really a form of archaeological psychology. Mythology gives you a sense of what a people believes, what they fear.” – George Lucas
Parisian artist, Travis Durden, has created a unique series of work that combines Star Wars images with myths and idols.
According to his biography,
“Fascinated by the construction of myths & idols, he interrogates how we, as humans, determine what will be raised to popular culture or elevated to divine cult, and how history has influenced us in making this choice.”
His art has been exhibited around the world including New York, Paris, Berlin, Shanghai, Londres and Los Angelas. I really love his use of combining the pop culture of Star Wars with the classic art of old.
In this article, I will be featuring his Star Wars themed art but there are many other themes to be found in his catalog. To see more work from Travis Durden, visit: http://www.travisdurden.com/
