GROUPWATCH Offers a Safe Way to Watch Your Favorite Disney+ Entertainment with Friends

Disney+ has announced their new “co-viewing” feature that will enable up to 7 of your friends and family to experience the full library available on the streaming service, including The Mandalorian – which premieres on October 30th.

In this time of the pandemic, this feature is perfect for watching your favorite Disney entertainment while also respecting the “social distancing” rules.

“Storytelling comes alive when you’re able to share and enjoy it with others,” says Jerrell B Jimerson, SVP Product Management for Disney+, “and in this moment when many are still apart from their friends and family, GroupWatch offers a way to safely connect virtually by co-viewing your favorite Disney+ stories with your favorite people from the comfort of your living room,”

How does it work?

– [Subscribers] will launch GroupWatch icon that can be found on the page of the movie or series you wish to watch.

– From your mobile phone or computer, you can then invite up to 6 others [subscribers] to watch with you on your TV or other devices like normal.

How will it work watching with friends and family?

– Your movie/series will synchronize with the other “watchers” and allow each person to pause for breaks, talk about what they just watched or rewind! That said, be sure to use the washroom before the show starts!!

– The GroupWatch also gives you the ability to give a “real-time” with six emojis to choose from such as “like”, “funny”, “sad”, “angry”, “scared” and “surprised”. You will need the Disney+ app installed to use this feature.

For those of you that have friends that are Star Wars and The Mandalorian fans but don’t live in the same city like the scoundrels at Star Wars Reporter, this amazing feature now give you and opportunity to LIVE watch together and I can’t wait to do just that!
