Disney+ Adds the Animated “Droids” Series to their Star Wars Vintage Collection

“Thank the maker!”

Disney+ has added the 1985 animated series, “Droids” to its Star Wars Vintage Collection!

Back in April of this year, Disney+ had created the “vintage collection” that included Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor, “The Story of the Faithful Wookiee.”, Ewoks Cartoon Series and Genndy Tartakovsky’s Star Wars: Clone Wars Volume 1 and 2. What was not so inconspicuously missing from this line-up was the series that played during the Star Wars hour with Ewoks was Star Wars: Droids – The Adventures of R2-D2 and C-3PO”. The wait is over and you can now watch the class animated series which starred Anthony Daniels returning to voice 3P0.

I LOVED this cartoon when it premiered in 1985. It was fresh off the “end of Star Wars” with the release of Return of the Jedi and fans, like myself and others, had a thirst for anything Star Wars. The series is directed towards a younger audience but, it still captures the essence of Star Wars with interesting characters, concept and stories. Characters such as one that gives a very “Rey” vibe, a pirate named Kylo Ren, and a visit from one of our favorite bounty hunters – Boba Fett!

“Years before they ever met Luke Skywalker, your favorite Star Wars droids roamed the galaxy on thrilling adventures powered by heart stopping perils… and side splitting fun! Join R2-D2 and C-3P0 in this action packed animated series as they explore the farthest reaches of space on their never ending quest for a good master!”
