#DisneyPlusDay Announcements from Lucasfilm and Star Wars

Happy #DisneyPlusDay

In part of their #DisneyPlusDay celebration, the Disney+ streaming service will be showcasing their upcoming series, movies and more – including those from Lucasfilm and Star Wars.

“In celebration of Disney+ Day, the second anniversary of the streaming platform, Disney+ not only premiered more than 25 new pieces of content, but also debuted dozens of first looks, new trailers, and exclusive clips from The Walt Disney Company’s world-class studios that showcase the incredible breadth of content coming to the service in the years ahead. Additionally, Disney+ subscribers were treated to a slate of all new content from each of its marquee brands, Disney, Pixar, Marvel, Star Wars, National Geographic, and in international markets, Star.”

Our first Star Wars reveal dropped today with the documentary, “Under the Helmet: The Legacy of Boba Fett” and many of us are hoping that we get to (officially) see a trailer for “Obi-Wan Kenobi”, starring Ewan McGregor.

The other exciting news for us was the announcement from Lucasfilm regarding the new “Willow” series which will premiere in 2022 which will see the return of Warwick Davis in the title role! We are introduced the supporting cast, including Ruby Cruz (“Mare of Easttown”), Erin Kellyman (“The Falcon and The Winter Soldier”), Ellie Bamber (“The Serpent”), Tony Revolori (“Spider-Man: No Way Home”), Amar Chadha Patel (“The Third Day”) and Dempsey Bryk (“The Birch”) in a “Meet the Cast” featurette.
