Warwick Davis returns as Willow Ufgood for another magical adventure in the Disney+ series November 30, 2022.
In a time before the Peter Jackson Lord of the Rings or George Martin’s Game of Thrones, there was the 1988 film,“Willow”.
From the imagination of George Lucas and Directed by Ron Howard, Willow was a compelling adventure in a mystical land with magic, monsters and family friendly hero’s journey story. I was a kid when this came out and I remember after seeing it (with my friend Alex), I was obsessed with the film and the characters, especially Willow himself and of course the rogue swordsman, Madmartigan, played by Val Kilmer. In my Dungeons and Dragons playing days, I can’t tell you how many characters I made that were inspired by Madmartigan.
The production and characters in the trailer look amazing, most notably, Willow played by Warwick Davis! He looks amazing in this and I can’t wait to see the experienced and wise wizard and his magical abilities.
The original film brought such a feeling of nostalgia for me and I am hoping that this new series can reignite that feeling!

An epic period fantasy series with a modern sensibility set in an enchanted land of breathtaking beauty, “Willow” features a diverse international cast with Jonathan Kasdan, Ron Howard, Wendy Mericle, Kathleen Kennedy, and Michelle Rejwan serving as executive producers. The story began with an aspiring magician from a Nelwyn village and an infant girl destined to unite the realms, who together helped destroy an evil queen and banish the forces of darkness.
Now, in a magical world where brownies, sorcerers, trolls, and other mystical creatures flourish, the adventure continues, as an unlikely group of heroes set off on a dangerous quest to places far beyond their home, where they must face their inner demons and come together to save their world.
